Project Type
Institutional / Conceptual renderings
Location

Conceptual Design Study — Consortium
Envisioned as a bright, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment, Mackay-Layton School embraces a contemporary architectural approach where rhythm, transparency, and colour contribute to the project's distinctive identity. The façade composition is defined by a vertical arrangement of light-toned panels and glazed surfaces, punctuated by colourful accents that introduce a playful dimension while helping to visually distinguish the different spaces.
The main entrance is characterized by a bold yet inviting architectural gesture, featuring a sequence of columns, expansive glazing, and a perforated canopy that filters natural light. This welcoming threshold creates a clear transition between the public realm and the school, giving the building a strong institutional presence while maintaining a human scale.
The concept seeks to balance simplicity, dynamism, and longevity, creating an architectural vision that supports a contemporary educational environment while establishing a recognizable and lasting identity for the school community.
