SQUARE

SQUARE is an ambitious interior renovation project, defined by its bright, expansive spaces thoughtfully arranged across two levels. Nestled within a typical building in Montreal’s southwest borough, the project represents a remarkable transformation of an ordinary rectangular space into a sophisticated, functional, and inspiring living environment.

The mandate was clear: maximize every square metre to meet the owners’ needs while navigating an extensive range of spatial and programmatic constraints.

At the heart of the project, a spectacular double-height space overlooking the dining area creates a striking sense of openness and verticality. Flooded with natural light throughout the day, it offers unobstructed views of the city, creating a memorable architectural experience. The addition of a carefully excavated basement introduces an entirely new dimension to the living space, respecting the existing structure while preserving the overall elegance of the design.

The conceptual approach was guided by meticulous attention to detail and a constant pursuit of balance between architectural precision and creative freedom.
